Many famous people and artist have made their dream come true purchasing in this island. Some of them to be mentioned are famous latin artist like Julio Iglesias, Bill Clinton,Robert de Niro or Shakira.Others like Bradd Pitt and Angelina Jolie have invested in projects in Miches and are building their summer house in Samana(a copy of Pitt’s californian house). Samaná remained virgin up to now because of the difficult access,but this is part of the past now as with the opening of the international airport at El Catey,the motorway to the capital bstrong foreign investors have already purchased.Even the Secretary at turism office is building a project in Samana “Vista Mare”. There will be four 5 stars hotel opening at the same time than the airport (expected November 1st).Bahia Principe is the name of the hotel group.Thre will be one in Las Terrenas,oposite the small airport of “El Portillo”.Three in Samana,Cayocao,Bahia Principe and the Star of the group ,the Bahia Principe on Bacardi Island. A new commercial centre is under construction in Samaná.
